A Business Born from a Single Dram
Ryan's whiskey journey began eight years ago while clerking for a Judge in Lake Charles, Louisiana. During a Christmas party, the Judge offered Ryan a pour of "the good stuff" and pointed to a bottle of Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey. A novice in the whiskey world at the time, Ryan naively obliged not knowing what would unfold from that single dram.
After taking a sip, Ryan quickly realized the error in his prior belief that "all whiskey tastes the same." The depth of flavors coupled with the warm, long-lasting finish made for a perfect nightcap on that cold winter's night. However, what resonated more than the flavor of the bourbon was the memory of sharing stories and laughs with his lifelong mentor over a single dram.
From that moment, a passion was born to learn about all things whiskey. Beyond simply tasting offerings from distilleries around the world, Ryan dove head first into learning about the history and culture behind the aged spirit and the people that bring it to life. Remembering that first dram with his life-long mentor, Ryan made it a point to never hoard his "good stuff" as he loved sharing his finds along with the history behind each pour with his friends and family. With this sentiment in mind, Ryan now wants to help others in and around his hometown of New Orleans experience that indelible moment of discovering the perfect pour and the memories that accompany each sip.
